Description
A small, few-branched tree characterized by stems with coarse, initially purple filaments that later turn brown and shed. Its leaves and petioles are pale brownish and tomentose. The plant produces pale purple flowers, 1.8 cm across, with recurving petal lobes and bright yellow anthers, and globose, orange-red fruits, 1 cm across, which emit a smell reminiscent of tomato.
