Natural HabitatFound above cloud forests in Henri Pittier National Park, Venezuela, at an altitude of 1700 meters. The habitat is not dense, with an open canopy 6-12 m high, few low herbs, and an understorey dominated by the palm Catoblastus prae-morsus, with abundant mosses and epiphytes. The soil is poorly developed, friable, with a thin peaty humic layer.

Description

A small tree growing up to 2 meters tall with a trunk diameter of 1 cm. It produces three white flowers in each leaf axil, characterized by strongly reflexed petals and bright yellow anthers that form a ring around the exserted style.
