Hydrostachys multifida is a unique submerged aquatic plant, characterized by a basal rosette of finely dissected leaves (not clearly visible) and distinctive reddish to dark brown, spiky, elongated reproductive structures. These structures are covered in numerous small projections, giving them a textured appearance, and emerge from a fleshy, reddish base.
