Natural HabitatFound in evergreen lower montane forests (yunga) in the Chapare province of Cochabamba, Bolivia. It grows in the arboreal stratum at elevations around 1646 meters, on slopes with eastern exposure, in stony soils covered by bryophytes and decomposing organic matter.
